Description: A small bronze "open" lamp with long spout and two horizontal handles at the side. Donated by Shirley Phillips in honor of her husband, Oliver Phillips, long a member of the KU Department of Classics.

N.666: clay saucer lamp (Early Iron Age) from Israel

Description: "Wheelmade open lamp formed from a shallow plate with a wide, flat rim by folding th edge generously inwards to produce a wick-rest." (Bailey 1996, 232). The wick-rest is blackened from use. Clay orange-buff, grainy and porous.
