N.91: Bronze Furniture Attachment in shape of Medusa Head from ? Italy (1st c CE)

Oval plaque with face surrounded by mass of snail-shell curls with hair strands articulated; at part in center bipartite wings with feathers articulated in outer portion rise diagonally to the sides.

Dimensions: H from chin to top of part 7.31 cm.; W across wings 7.17 cm.; W at level of eyes 9.4 cm.; Th across tongue 1.74 cm.; Th at top of head 0.82 cm.


N.92: Bronze Weight from Italy (?)

Pear-shaped weight; perforated attachment at top for hanging.

Dimensions: H 2.05 cm.; max D 1.54 cm.

N.227: TC Helmet from Italy (8th c BCE)

Imitation in clay of bronze helmet.

Dimensions: H 27.5 cm.; max D body ca 20.8 cm.

N.228: Etruscan Bronze Mirror from Etruria (Late 3rd c BCE)

Standard grip mirror with circular disc and handle terminating in a stylized deer's head.

Incised on the medallion: two identical males, each wearing Phrygian caps, knee-length tunics, and cross-strapped sandals, lean against short Ionic piers and flank two women facing them. The one on the left wears a Phrygian cap and long chiton; the other female is nude except for high-laced boots and some drapery: the Dioskouroi with Minerva and Aphrodite (or Helen).

Reverse: spiky garland frames the medallion.

Dimensions:  D. 11.9, H. 23.6, H. handle 8.8 cm.
