http://eremitus.ancients.info/Image%20pages/modern_coins.htm: " This is a "treasure" coin recovered in 1986, 176 years after being lost aboard the Admiral Gerdiner, which was bound for India with these coins for payment to workers in Bengal and Madras. The ship sank in a severe storm, carrying with it seven crew members. The coins were tightly wrapped and stowed in secure wooden casks, a total of 48 tons, and thus were preserved from the effects of salt water."
