New Exhibit

Coloring the Parthenon Frieze

Students and faculty from the Department of Classics and the School of Architecture & Design spent Spring 2021 planning for the future of the Wilcox Classical Museum.

The current exhibit is a proof of concept for a future larger exhibit, "The Parthenon Frieze in Color." The exhibit acknowledges that original works of sculpture from Greece and Rome were usually brightly painted.  

Highlights of the ideas explored by KU students for renovating the museum are currently on display in an alcove in the Department of Classics in Wescoe Hall. Please stop by and check it out!
